Miss Sydney began her life-long journey in dance as a young child of 3 in her home town of Calgary. She has trained in many styles including Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Modern, Tap, West African, Bollywood and more. Sydney’s classical training includes the Cecchetti Method, The Vagonova Method and most extensively, The Royal Academy of Dance Method of Classical Ballet. In 2017, Sydney successfully completed her Advanced II examination under the R.A.D. method, and was awarded the highest grade attainable; Distinction. She has also competed in many competitions, including the World Ballet Arts Grand Prix competition where she was awarded second place in the finals. She has also attended many dance programs and intensives across North America, including training with Alvin Ailey’s American Dance Theatre. Sydney has worked with many notable dance instructors such as the Principle Dancer of Ballet Hispanico, Pedro Ruiz, and the Ballet Master at Cairo Opera House, Nader Hamed. Sydney completed her formal dance training at a competitive studio where she had the privilege of training with and under Julie England. She has been an assistant teacher since age 9 and has taught since age 14. Sydney has extensive experience with all ages and most styles. Currently she is working closely with Miss Julie on her many choreographic endeavours and works. Sydney believes that the dance community is a wonderful place to foster growth and life lessons. Striving for the students’ best personal growth, Sydney is excited to share her love for dance with her new students.
